1873 Society Club
In October 2009, the Atlanta Humane Society Board of Directors created a junior board, the 1873 Society Club, comprised of young professionals and philanthropists devoted to raising awareness and funds to support the mission of the Atlanta Humane Society. The Atlanta Humane Society and Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Inc. was founded in 1873 and is the city's oldest, private, not-for-profit animal welfare organization. In 2011, our mission expanded to include all rescues by the HEART vehicle, including puppy mills, dog fighting rings, hoarders and disaster areas as well as the Mobile Spay/Neuter Vehicle. All funds raised this year will be dedicated to this tremendous cause.
