Heartworms & Flea Preventative

What’s the big deal about heartworms?
Heartworm disease is a serious infection caused by a parasite that lives in your pet's heart. Because the infection is spread by infected mosquitoes, there is no vaccination for heartworm disease. However, there are tests and medication to help protect your pet from this potentially fatal disease, and it is easier, safer, and less expensive to prevent this disease than to treat it after your pet becomes infected. See your veterinarian for more information on this important issue.

Heartworm preventative: Prices range between $28-$42 a six-month suppy depending on the weight of the dog. We offer Heartguard Plus.

Heartworm treatment: Depending upon the animal’s weight. 0-60 lbs. $535. 61-100 lbs. $655. 100+ $810.

Flea and Tick preventative: Topical Frontline ranges from $45-$51 for a three-month supply and oral Comfortis ranges between $50 and $56 for a six-month supply depending on the weight of the dog. Direct Heartworm test is $18.00

Twenty-four hour Capstar pills to kill adult fleas are available for dogs over 25 pounds and cats and dogs under 25 pounds for $3.75.
