Saks Fifth Avenue Forms Local Charitable Partnerships Nationwide

New York, NY (January 27, 2012) — This February, Saks Fifth Avenue will give 5% of all registered purchases made with a Saks Fifth Avenue credit card back to charity. The donations will benefit certain local organizations, keeping support within each Saks Fifth Avenue store’s immediate community.

“Saks Fifth Avenue is committed to our local communities. We appreciate our customers’ charitable involvement and look forward to giving back locally with this exciting and newly implemented national program,” Steve Sadove, Chairman and CEO, Saks Incorporated, said.

Customers may select which local charity from Saks Fifth Avenue’s roster they wish to allocate their 5% contribution. Registration is one simple step at point of sale linking the customer account with their chosen charity.

Saks Fifth Avenue Atlanta has partnered with the following charities from February 1 to 29, 2012:

Atlanta Humane Society
Founded in 1873, the Atlanta Humane Society is the oldest, private, non-profit animal welfare organization in Atlanta and one of the oldest humane agencies in America. Services include pet adoptions, a charitable veterinary clinic, low cost spay/neuter services, pet facilitated therapy, and animal behavior training classes – all made possible by generous contributions from the public.

Atlanta Speech School
The mission of the Atlanta Speech School is to help each person develop his or her full potential through language and literacy. Established in 1938, the Atlanta Speech School serves children and adults with speech, hearing, language, or learning disabilities through clinical and education programs, in addition to providing professional development for teachers and educators in partner schools and preschools.

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, a not-for-profit organization, is committed to enhancing the lives of children through excellence in patient care, research and education. Managing more than half a million patient visits annually at three hospitals and 17 neighborhood locations, Children’s is one of the largest clinical care providers for children in the country. Children’s offers access to more than 30 pediatric specialties and is ranked among the top children’s hospitals by Parents magazine and U.S.News & World Report. With generous philanthropic and volunteer support, Children’s has made an impact in the lives of children in Georgia, the United States and throughout the world. Visit www.choa.org for more information.

Doris Shaheen Breast Health Center at Piedmont Hospital
In 1995, the Doris Shaheen Breast Health Center at Piedmont Hospital became one of the first facilities of its kind in Atlanta. Today, the Center and its satellite facilities care for more than 36,000 women each year. The Center provides screening mammography, diagnostic mammography, stereotactic biopsies, ultrasound-guided core biopsies and breast MRI. It was the first breast health facility in Georgia to be accredited in all its modalities—including mammography, ultrasound and stereotactic biopsy. Digital mammography is available in addition to bone density screenings.

Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta
The Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta is Atlanta’s premier Jewish fundraising organization, offering community members the best opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of Jews everywhere. Founded in 1906, Federation creates and supports programs that transform Jewish values into tangible deeds, aiding the most vulnerable, ensuring that Jewish culture and traditions live on, and strengthening the critical link between our local community and Jews in Israel and overseas. Federation donors and volunteers enjoy the satisfaction of knowing they Live Generously, receive recognition for their involvement, and create a legacy of giving. Federation received four stars—the highest possible efficiency rating—from Charity Navigator, the nation’s premier independent charity evaluator. For more information, visit www.JewishAtlanta.org.

Saks Fifth Avenue is located at Phipps Plaza, 3440 Peachtree Rd. NE, Atlanta GA 30326. Saks Atlanta is open Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 8 PM, and on Sunday from 12:30 PM to 6 PM.

Saks.com will also be supporting the program, with 5% of online purchases made using a registered Saks credit card, being donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Each SAKS store has been given a ‘stretch’ sales goal for the month. The three stores that exceed those goals by the highest %, SAKS will donate 10% to their participating charities. Please help the Atlanta Humane Society by shopping at the Phipps Plaza Saks Fifth Avenue!
