Holland M. Ware Foundation Donates $5,000 to the Atlanta Humane Society to Offer Free Spay/Neuter Services for Pit Bulls and Pit Bull Mixes

ATLANTA – The Holland M. Ware Foundation has generously donated $5,000 to the Atlanta Humane Society to offer free spay/neuter services to 100 pit bulls and pit bull mixes. The veterinary clinic at the Atlanta Humane Society is scheduling the free spay/neuter appointments now.

"Pit bulls are extremely sweet animals when raised in the proper environment," said Anna Ware of the Holland M. Ware Foundation. "It is our hope that with this donation to the Atlanta Humane Society for free spay/neuter services, pit bull owners will be encouraged to help control the pet overpopulation in Georgia."

In addition to this recent donation, the Holland M. Ware Foundation has supported the Atlanta Humane Society since 2000 with the inception of the Holland M. Ware Rewards Fund, which allows AHS to offer monetary rewards in exchange for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of a person or persons responsible for animal cruelty- and neglect-related crimes in Georgia.

Pet owners of pit bulls and pit bull mixes interested in the free spay/neuter services are invited to call the Atlanta Humane Society clinic at (404) 875-6420 to schedule an appointment. The clinic is open 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.
