Atlanta Humane Society offers to FIX FELINES FOR FREE in FEBURARY

ATLANTA, GA – Atlanta Humane Society in conjunction with the Holland M. Ware Foundation is offering to "Fix Felines For Free in February". The program is being tagged the 5F plan and hopes to put an end to unnecessary loving during the month of February.

Georgia has an overwhelming amount of stray cats caused by unfixed free roaming felines. Over 60% of these end up in other Metro shelters where many are unable to find homes.

This year AHS is hoping to put a dent in the dreaded "kitten season", the feline mating period which extends from spring into mid-fall. AHS President Carl Leveridge explains, "kitten season is dreaded by the metro-Atlanta sheltering community because of the unmanageable number of cats admitted into shelters. The truth is that proactive steps must be taken to limit the number of litters born because enough homes simply can not be found."

Appointments for the 5F program are being taken now. To book your cat(s) please call 404-875-6420 and mention the 5F program.
