Atlanta Humane Society offers $5k reward for information leading to an arrest involving a dog set on Fire on McDaniel St.

ATLANTA, GA - The Atlanta Humane Society is offering a $5,000 reward on information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for setting a dog on fire on McDaniel St in Atlanta.
On Tuesday November 3rd "Chato" a one year-old bulldog-mix was let out to use the rest room. Approximately 25 minutes later, the dog was seen about a block from his home on fire. A good Samaritan immediately stopped her car to extinguish the dog using her own coat.
The dog is now at the Atlanta Humane Society Clinic and is being cared for by their medical staff. Director of Animal Welfare Initiatives and Outreach Miguel Abi-hassan says "The dog's injuries are mostly 3rd and 4th degree burns, they extend throughout the dog's entire left side. A good amount of the burning was focused around his mouth and face. At this juncture we're trying to see if we can save his left eye." Atlanta Humane Society expects "Chato's" medical bills will cost upwards of $6500.00 and are currently seeking assistance to help pay for his care.
Atlanta Humane Society has a few leads but is actively pursuing information to seek justice for "Chato". To this end, they are offering a $5,000.00 reward furnished by the Holland M. Ware Charitable Trust for a tip leading to an arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.
If you have a tip related to this case, please call (404)974-2868 and mention the Atlanta Humane Society reward. Reward will be awarded only after the successful identification, arrest and conviction of the person(s) involved.
