Our story:
Monty found me when I was volunteering at AHS in October 2008. He had been turned in the day before my shift, and he was in pretty bad condition. My husband Jay and I had just moved into a house in the neighborhood, and though I promised him I would wait a few months to find our perfect companion, I just couldn't wait. When I saw Monty I knew that he was meant to be ours. Jay agreed to make a visit to AHS the following day to see him. Though it wasn't love at first sight for Jay (Monty was missing A LOT of hair), he trusted my instincts and agreed to give Monty a home. We have never ever looked back on that decision with regret.
Three years later, as crazy and mischievous as Monty can be, he has brought so much joy and laughter to our lives. I have never taken for granted the joy pets bring to peoples lives, but I never really understood it myself until I met Monty.
Monty is my soulmut, and I am thankful everyday that I have him. I really believe that the stars aligned the day that he ended up in the puppy room at AHS, and I was volunteering. Jay and I were meant to give him his forever home.
