Khala
Dear Atlanta Humane Society,
We were at the earth day festivals and saw some of your volunteers. We called them over so that they could see Khala (formerly known as Kathleen). When they saw what a happy puppy she was they suggested I go on here and tell my story. So here it is...
I have never had a dog but always wanted one. When we moved to Atlanta we needed some company. We decided to go to a breeder for a "designer" puppy. While doing the research I came across your web site. After talking about it, we decided to come and check you guys out. We are SO glad we did. You have a great staff who really seemed to care about the animals. I was comfortable with AHS immediately. I first took a look in the puppy area saw an adorable little puppy named Kalla. We decided to go home and think about it. Next day we are on our way and as I walk into the puppy area Kalla is getting carried away by a little girl who was so excited to have a new puppy! I have to admit I was a little bummed. So I then decided to walk around the "older" puppies/dog area. And I know now why, I wasn't meant to adopt kalla. Sitting there was a very shy yet adorable 5 month old lab/retriever puppy named Kathleen. Well aside from the fact that is my name too, I fell in love immediately. I just knew that this was the dog for us. After spending some time with her and already changing her name =), we adopted her. We have been blissfully happy ever since. She is a great dog!! We have come to find out that she is part lab, part chow, and possibly part border collie. Either way, she has the best characteristics of all or any dog!
Thank you so much!
Dan and Kathleen
