Cleopus' Story

adopt a pet in atlantaDear Atlanta Humane Society,

When our 7 yr old part Siamese female dropped dead of a heart attack on April 5th, we were devastated! We looked at “new” kitties all over the Atlanta and Charleston, SC, area before coming to AHS on May 4th.

Immediately we were drawn to Lollipop but left without her. As we did so, the lady staff member’s parting words to us were “I want you to think about Lollipop.” Well, a couple of days later on May 7th, we came back and adopted her!

Although we love the name Lollipop, we decided to change her name to “Cleopus” after Cleopas who saw the resurrected Jesus on the way to Emmaus. Now Cleopus fits her perfectly.

This is little tortoiseshell girl has been WONDERFUL. Our 8 yr old male kitty adores her, lying on his back to play with her while she grooms him, then playing chase with her. Of course, they both sleep WITH US! SPOILED ROTTEN!
Her vet is Dr. Drew Weigner, a nationally renowned feline expert who also fell in love with her.

We see from the website that Garnet is no longer there. We had also talked about adopting her...

Please tell the Wednesday cat staff ladies that we are the older couple who indeed came back for this kitty, and she now has an idyllic home with us. Adorable Cleopus.

Thanks for all you do for animals.

Susan and George
