Carly's Story
Hello Atlanta Humane Society Angels!
We’re writing today from Charlotte, NC, as we celebrate the 4th anniversary of adopting precious Carly -- “the caramel-colored dog” (her original name was Buttercup, now her middle name). She stole our hearts when we were visiting our Atlanta grandparents in 2007. We took our kids to AHS to show them where we adopted our first rescue dog – Scooter, a Beagle who lived to be 17. Carly is our third rescue dog (she overlapped with Shelby, a 14-year-old Collie mix, for only five weeks).
With her sweet disposition, Carly has encouraged other families to bring four-legged children into their families. She is gentle, welcomes everyone into our home, and lays calmly at the feet (and often on them) of anyone who spends time with us. She LOVES to play with her toys, especially her stuffed lobster (see photo). With her beautiful, adoring eyes, Carly seems to thank us every day for bringing her into our family. We don’t know who is more grateful, Carly or us!
Thank you for bringing us together. Who knows? Maybe we’ll drive through Atlanta some day and bring home a sibling for her!
